Quote from Storm_Cloud :Start from the back every race. You'll pass half the field in T1.

A curious thing for BL1 in demo servers, is that if you are slow (1:34, 1:35) , is better to start at back of grid or 5th position because everyone (including S2 users when they come to a demo server) goes wide or crash, and you can easily go to the lead...

the brazilian trucks use manual shifter and 6 gears, like a road car in LFS (and also NASCAR cars too), so its not so hard to implement...

PS: The brazilian trucks are the most powerful from the world, so my vote is for they.

could be cool like the brazilian (now south american ) Formula Truck, where the trucks have diferent weight and power, hitting + 250 km/h in straights, some of engines have +1000 hp...

Quote from VoiD :Circuit Gilles Villeneuve:

Take a closer look at turn 3 It´s pretty much the same as for BL1...

Take a look at speed when cars get to turn 3 (in gilles villeneuve circuit) and speed when cars get to turn 1 from BL1...

I improved myself after the topic creating, have more experiences in LFS, and the problem in BL1 exit, is that if you is racing and goes a bit wide (just a bit enough to use the outside kerb), you will crash the car exiting the pitlane, uncare if the drivers are respectful or not...

And the problem with the pit entry, is the same, if you go a bit wide or tight, there is a wall in 2 sides to damage your car...

+1 for the idea for switch the pitlane area with the racing track http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1448356#post1448356

In LFS you can crash a barrier, fly high, crash to the ground, have a lot of damage and you still can drive the car at near racing speeds...

In all simulators (and real life) you will cant drive or just move the car...

Why dont drive to pits, repair and go? If you go to pits, its like you restarted the race (for you) and starting from pits, if you repair, you will be far from the leaders but you can catch up...

there is demo drag servers who use the blackwood backstraight...

Quote from Fingeri :Why not just change current main straight to pitlane and current pitlane to track?

AWESOME IDEA!!
The rallycross can use this pitlane too and the main straight can be more safe and in a plane area

the idea for pit lane after chicane is near perfect, but the chicane is very slippy, and a lot of people spins at there... A car passing at high speed at side from a very dangerous place is bad... (at real life, i dont think who that chicane will exist, not at that place or not in that shape...)

my game is aways les than 20 fps and i like, going to 60 who is the limit from a lot of monitors is not enough?

The pitlane at straight looks good and not expensive, like FIA is doing at Donnington park, and all non-street tracks have anything like that, with the car exiting the pit accelerating to speed and giving drafting to help anyone in overtaking

that can be good to racing, using layouts to do a normal track

The best idea in LFS!!!!
Blackwood New pit exit

I am a experient player, not only in LFS but in a lot of simulators, and wanna suggest: Why dont make a new pit lane exit? because it ends in a bad place, can make a lot of crashes, and i think if will better the pit lane ends before the hairpin or after the chicane, better if use a tunnel, like abu dhabi track?

the chicane is a really controversial thing, but is really idiot too a chicane AFTER A HAIRPIN. from my tracks knowing, i think who we need 2 chicanes (1 for the normal racing, at straight end, and other just where it is) or 1 at the centre, bus stop like, to be a overtaking and switch back area

Quote from Zen321 :
So basically, when driving on the roof at 161 mph, the downforce created will be equal to the weight, with the force going upwards. The only problem is that is the downforce equals, the sum of the forces exerted on the BF1 will be equal to zero (value of weight + value of downforce -which is negative- = 0).

This won't make the BF1 able to stand on the roof, because if the weight is zero, the force exerted on the tires will be equal to zero, as if the tires had nothing on them to keep them stick to the ground (even they will be weightless). Which means that at 161 mph, the tires won't have enough grip to keep pushing the car forward, so the speed will reduce drastically (because of the excessive air resistance needed to create the downforce).
The result will be the car falling down on the ground, upside-down, resulting in the death of the driver, and the loss of a 20 million car... (omfg)

So, the car, in order to stay on the ground would need at least to create as much downforce as two times his weight (to make the tires have a grip on the ceiling). And in order to be driven like normally on the ground, they would need to create downforce equals to three times its weight.

How to do this ? Two options : Speed, or more wing angle.
In both case, a more powerful engine is needed. It seems obvious for the first option. For the second, more wing will create more air resistance, so a more powerful engine is needed to give the same performance with an increased air resistance.

OR, third option : getting Alonso, Hamilton, Massa and Kubica drive steady at 140, 150, 160 and 170 mph in the tunnel so that the driver of that BF1 will take their slipstream so counteract the air resistance and accelerate faster :P

A f1 car at 125 km\h (in mid wing angles) creates its own weight in downforce; but at 190 km\h, it create 2 times it weight in downforce. So imagine at 330 km\h??

We have the F08 (me not, im demo user), it can use KERS, but LFS+KERS=NFS+NOS (like another people said) because LFS doesnt have Brake temps
